Other features that make the Okuma Azores stand out include the Brass Machined Main Gear, the Compact Aluminum Bail Arm (which is usually found only in much more expensive reels), and the 100% Metal Body.

The spool of the Azores has a grooved surface where it comes into contact with the line and does not require the addition of tape or an elastic ring before the initial winding. Another point where Okuma placed great emphasis is the absolute protection against corrosion from seawater.

All internal mechanical parts are anodized and chemically treated against corrosion, while the body has been treated with anti-corrosive resins before the color is applied.

Finally, the 7 bearings that support the mechanism are stainless steel.
