A legendary reel from the Japanese company Daiwa. A living organism that every year inherits the best genes and the most innovative technologies, to continue its evolution and test the new limits.

From the Z, series to the current model, Daiwa ensured the ultimate functionality and durability that each time period allowed. So the current model has what today's technology can offer it, both mechanically and in terms of construction.

Also for first time the brakes have reached the highest possible level with the reliability that the company has always enjoyed, while the single monocoque body, εξασφαλίζει περισσότερο χώρο για τα γρανάζια σε μια πιο ανθεκτική κατασκευή.

Στη χρονιά 2023 ο Daiwa Saltiga was further developed to include all the new Daiwa technologies in one mechanism and bring innovations not seen before. For the first time the Daiwa set aside the particular way in which it names the sizes and the new series Saltiga, διαθέτει αρίθμηση μεγεθών, όπως όλα τα υπόλοιπα μηχανάκια της αγοράς.

A significant reduction in the weight of the reel, but with an increase in its strength, has been achieved through the Monocoque Body technology. The “Monocoque” frame is a new proposal, single, mechanically designed, symmetrical body. Its symmetrical construction marks the beginning of a new era in the construction of even stronger, completely watertight reel. The monocoque body, strengthens the integrity of the reel and further prevents the entry of water or other elements.

The mechanical parts – gears, shafts, bearings – are integrated into the single Monocoque frame and are virtually forbidden to move from their position. Whereas in the past the body and side sections held the mechanical parts, Monocoque construction on the Saltiga is more sturdy, with much better tightness and synergy between the various components.

The other great advantage of the Monocoque construction is the minimization of the required space. Where in previous models the designer had to provide space for screws, washers and all sorts of parts, the new unibody design eliminates them entirely and replaces them with gears and bearings, further improving the operation of the reel.

Anglers demand gear that can maintain consistent performance, even under extreme use and exposure to harsh weather conditions. However, sealing a reel also involves some extremely complex problems. This is because, for all the mechanical parts to work together, there must be the required space as well as access to the crank.

This problem is solved with Daiwa's unique Magsealed technology, which uses magnetism to create a semi-permanent, wall of lubricant, which prevents the entry of seawater and dust inside the reel. Daiwa's new “magical” magnetic fluid was a leap into the future. Originally developed by NASA to transport fuel to spacecraft, magnetic fluid was first used in 2010 by Daiwa in the Saltiga models. The mixing of liquid with metal was not an easy task but Daiwa managed it successfully.

The bearings used by Daiwa are made in Japan, resistant to corrosion and each of them includes a magnet inside. In the path along which each sphere moves, the magnets create a magnetic field, to which the magnetic fluid permanently adheres, ensuring that nothing, no matter how small, gets through.

This innovative technology continues to prove its effectiveness in terms of the durability it brings to the reel, dramatically reducing the number of services. On the Saltiga, the Pinion Shaft, the Line Roller and the two bearings of the Drive Gear have Magsealed lubrication.

The ATD (Automatic Tournament Drag) Braking System now manufactured by 14 different components, instead of 6 that made up the modelSaltiga in 2015, a feature that makes the Saltiga 2023 δέκα φορές stronger and more durable than its predecessors. Η butterfly of the brakes has also been redesigned and its size grew by 42% for greater ergonomics. Key brake components are now manufactured made of aluminium, material which better eliminates the accumulated heat that develops. It has also strengthened the sound of the clicker, as during the battle, your senses are... elsewhere.

Daiwa manufactures Saltigas with two different aluminum handles, one oval-shaped and the other round, depending on the model.

With a view to increasing the pleasure factor, theι Saltiga 2023 have ,reels LC-ABS (Long Range) which ensure the perfectly smooth exit of the thread and the avoiding the formation of coils.

Finally, another practical detail of the Saltiga 2023 βρίσκεται στο πικάπ, the opening and closing of which is controlled by an inhibitor which prevents the rotor from rotating during firing.
