The roots of Okuma's reels start from the construction of spinning reels which incorporate many of Okuma's unique technologies, at very affordable prices.
In this category, Okuma has introduced the Ceymar series of reels (formerly known as Caymus), with an impressive black finish with red tones. The Okuma Caymus may be small in size and weight, but not in performance.
They feature a sturdy forged aluminum handle, with an EVA handle made of anti-slip material. The Caymus (Ceymar) reels from Okuma include many of their unique technologies, which make them an excellent choice.
The gears are precision-made in an elliptical shape, and the drive gear is made of brass for maximum strength and durability, while the 7 ball bearings provide a very smooth operation and zero reverse. The Okuma Caymus reels have a compact body, small in size, an aluminum spool, and are perfectly balanced.
Designed for use in freshwater and saltwater, the Caymus features a multiple disc drag system with ample lubrication that delivers up to 9kg of drag.
Available from with additional anodized aluminium bobbin.
Technologies :
Precision Elliptical Gearing is the patented technology that lies at the heart of Okuma spinning reels in the mid to high price range. Okuma uses elliptical-shaped gears to ensure perfect line distribution and smooth drum operation. Additionally, the elliptical-shaped gears are always engaged, resulting in a stable drum position and very smooth movement.
Even Flow Roller System with Even Flow Roller System, which utilizes a bearing that is placed under the line roller. The operation of the bearing ensures that the line is distributed without friction and without sinking, avoiding twists when using the brake.
RES II The RES II system stands for "Rotor Equalizing System Second Generation". The shape and weight of the rotor are designed with great precision to achieve perfect balance during rotation. Additional weight is also placed on the rotor to prevent even the slightest vertical movement of the spool and ensure smoothness during casting and retrieval.
Quick-Set Anti-Reverse The technology of Instant Anti-Reverse (Quick-Set Anti-Reverse) does not allow the handle to move, which is achieved by placing a stainless steel bearing that allows the mechanism to move in only one direction.
Blade Body Design With the Blade Body Design, the profile of the reel has been made thinner, resulting in a reduction in weight and volume, while improving its aesthetic appearance.
High Performance Bearings The balls used in the bearings (High Performance Bearings) are made of the same stainless steel as the rest of the bearing. This makes the bearing 10 times more resistant to seawater compared to regular stainless steel bearings.
