The Daiwa Saltiga gear has an aluminum body and a careful weight, a characteristic that has paved the way for its use in many techniques, where high speed and low weight are essential .
Perhaps the main feature of the Daiwa Saltiga is the two sealed bearings of Mag Sealed technology, which replaced the older bearings on both ends of the shaft.
The new "magic" magnetic liquid from Daiwa was a leap towards the future. Initially developed by NASA for transporting fuel to spacecraft, the magnetic liquid was first used in 2010 by Daiwa in the Saltigamodels. Mixing a liquid with metal was not an easy task, but Daiwa accomplished it.
The bearings used by Daiwa are made in Japan, resistant to corrosion and each of them includes a magnet inside. In the path along which each sphere moves, the magnets create a magnetic field, to which the magnetic fluid permanently adheres, ensuring that nothing, no matter how small, gets through.
This specific lubricant contains metal nano-particles which create a protective layer of lubricant, which adheres to the mechanical parts of the reel and makes them inaccessible to dust and water, extending longevity and their good operation.
Thus, the Daiwa Saltiga Slow Jigging gears are even more resistant against the corrosion caused by seawater, which is the cause of most malfunctions, and maintain their smooth operation, even with less maintenance.

Mag Sealed :
MAGSEALED oil is a magnetic oil that utilizes aerospace technology to protect the internal components of the reel and ensure smooth rotation. The MAGSEALED technology is based on a magnetic oil developed by NASA. This fluid connection was initially used for the internal operation of hard disks - providing dust sealing but not waterproofing. Daiwa engineers took on the challenge of creating a waterproof oil, working to control the intensity of the magnetic force. This required hundreds of tests with micron-level adjustments. The technology has been tested and proven in water by top experts in every scientific field, delivering a proven benefit in rotational smoothness.
ATD :
The ATD (Automatic Tournament Drag) brake system features discs infused with a new special grease that optimizes the energy efficiency of the brake. This high-quality grease offers better initial grip, providing a more stable and progressive brake. As a result, the risk of line breakage during battles is minimized, thanks to the precise response of the ATD brake, which adjusts to every phase of the fight: engaging faster and more progressively at startup and offering better control during the heat of the battle. It automatically adapts to different constraints at each stage of the fight, hence its name Automatic Tournament Drag. With the Daiwa ATD brake, be prepared for calmer and better-controlled battles. The drag knob tightening is more precise, and the internal base of the spool fits better onto the axis to eliminate any play when the brake is released.
Infinite Anti Reverse :
It limits the reverse motion of the handle... to zero for better "hook sets" without shaking the mechanism and without any line slippage.
Extra spool :
Some reels are provided with a spare spool. Most of them are identical to the original, but they may have different material or size.
CRBB :
Armored bearings for extra protection. Shielded for extra protection. CRBB bearings achieve 12 times greater corrosion resistance compared to standard bearings.
Super Metal Body :
Aluminum is the most rigid material for reel components. Daiwa engineers have specially processed the metal to form an optimal micro-layer of stainless aluminum.
Hyper Digigear :
