A handmade rod, suitable for the exceptionally rising and demanding Heavy Rock Fishing (HRF) in Greece, which involves the control of small lures and Pencil artificial baits even under extremely difficult conditions.
After much study and testing, we selected a truly "fast" blank that combines sensitivity, but also tremendous power in the trunk and the striking. Its length is 2.33 m, which allows even the most delicate command, to pass with characteristic ease to the lure. It casts lures up to 18-20 grams with ease, with throws that are truly admirable, while it starts to "feel" even with HS Minnows from 3-4 grams. In our opinion, its action and behavior are the most suitable for most of the fish we encounter on our shores, and in extreme cases, it can comfortably handle the biggest surprises that the HRF technique reserves for us.
Heavy Rock Fishing is a dynamic fishing method, which combines a lot of movement, lures that require precision in commands and, on the other hand, abrupt and deep strikes on difficult jaws, like those of the Bream and Sea Bass, with simultaneous heavy use of the rod, lifting fish from high rocks without a gaff, sudden tension, strange recovery angles, etc.
It is available with a counterweight for adjusting the weight and three wheels (total of 20 grams), for the absolute adjustment of the rod, depending on the type of lure. The ability to make it front-weighted, when, for example, we use Jerkbaits or back-weighted when we want to play with small lures, is something very useful, especially in long fishing sessions. This system also helps in the interchange of mechanisms, depending on the conditions without affecting the balance of the whole set.
On the 'HRF-Jigger' rod, there is nothing superfluous, there are only what is necessary in order to have a low weight, variable balance and a low-key aesthetics that emphasizes the functional dimension of the rod. All materials are the highest quality available in the market, as such discounts cannot be applied to a handmade rod.
It pairs perfectly with reels of size from 2000 to 3000 and lines from 0.4 to 0.6 PE.
There is no lure that the 'HRF-Jigger' cannot handle. The only category for which we do not recommend this particular rod is silicone lures.
