Information

As a result of the extensive research by the pioneer Eging Yamashita, it was found that squids recognize changes in water temperature. This led Yamashita to develop a unique Egi Oh Q Live squid jig with a patented thermal fabric called a warm jacket.

The cloth reacts to light (any form of light: sunlight or artificial light) and will maintain its temperature for longer than traditional cloths. With the capacity to hold heat similar to natural fish, Live jigs are more successful in attracting squids interest since squid can recognize temperature variations when hunting prey

The new material is called “Tactywarm” which is weaved with a unique thread that is able to change light into heat. It can absorb light from sunlight to artificial light, changing it into thermo energy of about 0.

Yamashita also patented the nose design. It's the thinnest nose available on any of their jigs but does not compromise its strength. This gives it the advantage of minimising water resistance when hopped which gives the jig more action for less effort.

The LIVE jerks are a lot sharper when you lift the rod, generating a much better action. Other features of Egi Oh Q Live include large, flat eyes with a glow edge, super fine spikes, Hyper Direct SUS eyelet to maintain jig strength and protect against breakage or leaks. It also has a much longer casting distance than many other jigs.

Technical characteristics:

  • Squid Jig size: 3.5

  • Weight: 20g
  • Length: 110mm
  • Sinking speed: 3.0 s/m
